CWIB x STAR – Developing Women Leaders
March 26 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Co-Sponsored by 100 Women
Developing Future Women Leaders is a professional development and networking event for all Kenan-Flagler students with women leaders from industry and academia. The event is co-hosted by CWIB (Carolina Women in Business) and STAR (Student Team Achieving Results). This year’s event, titled “X, Y, and Z: Let’s Unleash the Power of Collaboration Across Generations,” will explore how different generations of women can work together effectively in today’s evolving workplace.
The pandemic, hybrid work, and technology have had an immense impact on work environments and, often, particularly on female professionals. Gen Z seeks flexibility, work-life balance, and attention to wellness, while craving authenticity and community. At the same time, Gen X and Y (Millennials) female leaders are eager to collaborate with and support their junior colleagues but might find it tricky to connect and bridge differences in work and communication styles. This event will address these issues and unleash the power of collaboration across generations.
The event will feature:
• Optional VR simulations developed by Kenan-Flagler to raise awareness of potential issues women might face in the workplace
• A panel discussion with executive leaders and students, including Elizabeth Faber, Global Chief People & Purpose Officer, Deloitte (to be confirmed)
• Interactive roundtable conversations with MBA and Undergraduate students, industry leaders, and faculty
• Bingo Speed Networking for industry leaders, students, and faculty
• A networking reception with dessert and drinks
